NURSERY 2
(Ages 6 months – 12 months)

Our Nursery 2 program at Noah's Ark Day Care in South County Mo is for children 6 to 12 months. Entering Nursery 2 means that your child has accomplished the milestones set for the Nursery 1 room, which are as follows:

• When on stomach, baby should hold head erect and raise body
• Hold toys
• Control head well
• Reach for and bat at objects
• Rolls from front to back
• Babbles and coos
• Smiles, laughs and squeals
• Responds to name

MILESTONES

The milestones that we will work with your child in Nursery 2 are:

• Able to sit alone
• Transfer objects from one hand to the other
• Bring toys to mouth
• Trying to stand
• Respond to their own name
• Scoot, creep and try to crawl
• Picks things up with pincer grasp (thumb and finger)
• Walking and talking

DAILY SCHEDULE

Nursery 2 is a little more structured than Nursery 1. The children have scheduled nap times from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the afternoon nap is from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. They have a scheduled lunch time from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We feel that this little bit of structure builds familiarity and comfort with the children.
